Practicing Rounding Number

This morning played to games based off of rounding numbers and decimals. In the first game you can see above I had to use my knowledge of rounding numbers to complete each "level/question."

Astria Countdown to Impact

“Students don’t learn much playing this game called Astria – Countdown to Impact: Their time could be better spent doing other things”.

I strongly disagree with the teacher because this game teachers us a variety of different reading/writing skills. It teaches us to use a much stronger vocab, skim read, critical thinking, inferences and more. It helps to understand how to make inferences/clues to solve a problem. I understand that people might think games are a waste of learning time but there are educational games like this one.

Nz Strike

Today in class I made an inforgraphic based on a upcoming event. The 'Teachers Strike'! Teacher all around Auckland maybe even New Zealand have joined together and agreed on having a Strike. Emma Watson Digital Learning Object

WALT: identify persuasive language features in a text.
Today in the second block of school my friends and I created a DLO based off of persuasive language features. To show our knowledge of persuasive language we found it (persuasive language) in Emma Watson's speech. We try to help you understand persuasive language and when it should be used. Today for the Morning session my partner and I did a DLO on our collaborative problem solving. We found this pretty easy because we were able to read the problem and figure out the easiest strategy to use to solve the problem. We have done many DLO's but from our prospective this was our best work yet.

Today in my graphics/technology classroom I we are learning about different charities. We have all made our own logos for our own charity organisations. The shield at the back shows is significant for helping and saving all animals not just dogs. Animals are neglected not by all humans but by some heartless humans in the world. Today in the first few minutes of school I completed a solvemoji equation. This equation uses 2 operations, as you can see they are multiplication and addition. I really enjoy using this site for Maths. It really helps me to improve in my addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Today in the second block of school, a friend & I used our reading skills & smart search to make inferences and complete a quiz. We learnt about AJ Hackett his partner Chris Sigglekow & the Pentecost Islanders they were inspired by. We solved a quiz by making inferences. I found it pretty easy since we were in partners. Today in the second group of school I grouped up with a couple of my friends to solve a mystery by making inferences. This task was very tough in the beginning bu in the end it was easier to understand. We all picked a person and found clues about him. If I was to rate this task out of 5 I would give it a great 4 because I loved how challenging it was for me.

Inference Game

In class I played an inference game called rags to riches. I completed the task. Every time you get a correct answer you gain more & more money (fake money). Every time you get an answer wrong you have to start the whole game all over again. You also get 3 hints. I found it pretty medium. To improve I need to make more inferences to figure out the answer.

In room 6 we are learning the kc's. The kc's are Thinking, Relating to other, Using symbols, language &  text, Managing self & Participating and Contributing. They are important bc we can use these kc's in the future and the present. Using them in class will help us improve our grades.
