Collaborative Problem Solving

In the first block of school I did collaborative problem solving. We had to make a DLO based on what we learnt. It was very fun.

In the first block of school I made a DLO on a mystery. It was very fun trying to solve the mystery of who stole the ipod. We did this activity and completed it by collaborating, participating and cooperating. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Nz Curiousity

Dear Lisa,

Talofa Lava I come from the suburb of Glen Innes, in the beautiful city of Auckland,NZ. I wish to write this letter of thanks. Thank you for being the kind,warm-hearted you are. A whole heap  of NZ children have been challenged to write to curious new zealanders. I have chosen you for the way you changed our country. You don't only inspire me, you inspire other children and adults as well. Lisa you're one of a kind. Hundredaire Game

During the first block of school I played a game called hundredaire. Pretty weird name right, I know well I played and gladly got 100 dollars. Fake dollars, of course. You can also play this game. In this game I used division in parts. Though the first few queries were tough it got harder pretty quickly. When and if you play it comment down below what score you got. 

Science Experiment

Today, in the first session of school I made an infographic based on the science experiment we did on Tuesday. We mixed neutral, basic and acidic substances to cabbage juice. We used red cabbage juice to change the colour by adding substances. I really enjoyed using creativity to make this infographic. I hope you enjoyed it. This is the site i used - CANVA. Science Experiment

WALT: determine whether a substance is an acidic, basic or neutral

In this experiment i observed and found out that using basic, acidic and neutral substances. When adding a basic substance the cabbage juice is most likely to be yellow, green or blue. When adding an acidic substance to the cabbage juice it is most likely to turn pink or red. When adding a neutral substance to the cabbage juice it is most likely to turn purple or not change.

Today in the 2nd session of school I made an infographic on the do's and don'ts of social media (Being Cybersmart). I used an amazing app called canva. I enjoyed it so much because I could use my ability of creativity. You can use this app for anything. This app is amazing I hope you enjoyed my infographic, I hope it inspired you or even better taught you something. Thank you.

Today in the first session of school a friend and I made a DLO based on how to solve fraction probs using multi & div. We found this quite easy, since we understood the strategies. We hope you learnt something from our DLO, I hope you enjoyed it.

In the first session of school, I made a DLO (Digital Learning Object). In my DLO I used the operation division and used the strategy division in parts. I enjoyed making this so much thank you for clicking on my blog. I hope you learn from it and enjoy it thank you.

Homophone Game

For reading in class I was set to play a homophone game. In this game you have to pick the correct word for a sentence. There are multiple levels you can play, compete with your friend and see who goes on a harder level. I hope you play this game and enjoy it as much as I did. 

Free Writing based on the rules of Netball

Netball is a ball sport, played by 2 teams of 7 players. There are 7 different positions you could play. All of them do three main things (Attacker, Defender, Shooter). One team will attempt to pass the ball down the court and score a 1 point, by passing it to one of 2 shooter so they may shoot it in the hoop. While the opposite team defends the ball from reaching the opposite teams shooter.

All positions have a restricted area they are able play in. Some are allowed in 2 thirds, 1 third or all the thirds except the semi-circle. For every time a person is holding the ball they have three seconds to either pass it to a player, or shoot it in the hoop.

At a time someone is defending they can only defend three feet from the other person. If they are closer than three feet, that is referred to as a ‘Obstruction’, that person then has to ‘stand down’. When you stand down it means, you have to stand next to the person and you are not able to play until the ball is out of his/her hands.

Today for maths in class I made a DLO on what I have recently learning in class (Division in parts with remainders). In my DLO I explain how I got the answer to a question. I hope this teaches you a lot because that sure would make me happy. I enjoy making DLO's for all aged viewers to watch.

Inference Game (Rags to Riches)

During the last session of school I enjoyed playing an inference game (Rags to Riches). This game asks questions about a story, to see if you can add all the inferences together. Once you get a wrong question you start back at 200 dollars.

Problem Solving DLO

Today during the first session of school I made a DLO, based on what I have been recently learning in maths (Division in Parts). In this DLO I explained how I got the answer and how I would find the answer in any similar division in parts equation. I hope this teaches you something, because I really enjoy making these for viewers to read and learn from.

Tile Conversions

In the first session for maths 2 friends and I made Tile Conversions. I had to give my conversion to a friend and she had to find the, Fraction, Decimal, Percentage and Number of the colours I used. I found this easy, one because I finished in a pretty decent time, and two because I really enjoyed so I tried my best.

Today I hopefully made an inspiring infographic. I used as much creativity and hard work just to make an infographic that will inspire all aged viewers. Recently in class we have been learning about the 6 simple machines (Levers, Inclined Planes, Wheel and Axles, Wedges, Pulleys and Screws). Today I have decided to make an infographic on canva about a simple machine known as a Screw. I really enjoy how I can use creativity and my imagination to make an inspiring and entertaining infographic. When making an infographic you are relaxed and nothing is really on your mind. I hope you learnt from my infographic as much as you enjoyed it, because I enjoyed making it.

Dirt Bike Proportions

Today I played a game called Dirt Bike Proportions . In this game you have to use your knowledge of equivalent fractions. The more answers you get right the faster you will get to win the race. It is a really fun game to play with friends. I hope you enjoy this game as much as I did.

Prototec

Early this morning in class I did prototec. I got 100% as you can see. I had to do multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, squares, roots and factors. It wasn't that difficult I had fun making it.

Author's Purpose Game (Fling The Teacher)

In class I played an author's purpose game. You have to answer 15 questions based on author's purpose (PIE). If you are to get all the questions correct you are able to fling your teacher. Here's a link . I hope you have a load of fun playing it, just like I did.

Stage 8 Prototec

I class I did stage 8 Prototec. Personally I think I could have got a better score, but simplifying fractions, factors and multiples aren't that easy.  I tried my best, enjoyed doing it and got a decent score.

In class Champion and I did a mean, median and mode game. It is amazing because you're learning something and playing a game at the same time.

Today a friend and I did a DLO based on multiplying decimals using algorithm. It was difficult but we finished it and enjoyed making it.

Author's Purpose Battleship

In class today my teacher shared with us a link to a battleship reading game.

What you have to do is play normal battleship but when you find there ship,

 you need to answer author's purpose questions (reading questions). I really enjoyed

it because it' a game and it helps us to learn. 

Collaborative DLO

Today I made a DLO. The operation we used was multiplication. I did two strategies for one problem. For one I did algorithm and for the other I did place value. A DLO helps me to understand the question.  I enjoy making a DLO.

Comparing toys from the Past and Present

In class I made three infographics based on the difference between toys back then and in our days. I learnt most of this information when the senior side of my school went to the howick historical village. We learnt about their schools, rules, houses, and the different jobs ladies and gentlemen had to do. I really enjoyed making this as well as going to the village. I learnt a lot of knew things. It was a wonderful experience.

I created a DLO on the 4 averages. My favorite average is mode because I think it is the easiest.

In class I made a DLO on the four averages. We have been learning about the averages for a long time so I was pretty familiar of what to do. I really enjoyed making it. It was easy to me so I got through it fast.

Equalising Game

Yesterday my teacher assigned the class a equalising game.We had to equalise fractions, decimals and percentages. For the game I got up to level 7. I really enjoyed it and it really helped me to understand what to do. For this game my next goal is to get to level 10.

Kahoot

For maths in class we are learning about mean, mode, median and range. Today my teacher made a kahoot about mean, median, mode and range questions. It was hard but I won because I got questions right that others didn't I enjoyed it.  

Equivalent Fraction Game

In class I played the equivalent fraction game. While I was playing I reached my goal. I got up to level 11. It was difficult but I managed to make it.
