 Today I made a DLO (Digital Learning Object) based on what we have been learning in class. Rounding decimals and numbers. Practicing Rounding Number

This morning played to games based off of rounding numbers and decimals. In the first game you can see above I had to use my knowledge of rounding numbers to complete each "level/question."

Astria Countdown to Impact

“Students don’t learn much playing this game called Astria – Countdown to Impact: Their time could be better spent doing other things”.

I strongly disagree with the teacher because this game teachers us a variety of different reading/writing skills. It teaches us to use a much stronger vocab, skim read, critical thinking, inferences and more. It helps to understand how to make inferences/clues to solve a problem. I understand that people might think games are a waste of learning time but there are educational games like this one.

Today in the first session of school my friend and I created a DLO/Powtoon about a recent event that took place. I used the site powton to create my DLO. I made it as fun and creative as I could so you may enjoy it. We are currently learning about using both sides of a story. Nz Strike

Today in class I made an inforgraphic based on a upcoming event. The 'Teachers Strike'! Teacher all around Auckland maybe even New Zealand have joined together and agreed on having a Strike. They are having a strike for many different reasons. I made a inforgraphic to show the importance of the strike and why it needs to be noticed. The strike will be held in Auckland City. Emma Watson Digital Learning Object

WALT: identify persuasive language features in a text.
Today in the second block of school my friends and I created a DLO based off of persuasive language features. To show our knowledge of persuasive language we found it (persuasive language) in Emma Watson's speech. We try to help you understand persuasive language and when it should be used. We are currently writing speeches and using persuasive language features helps to improve our speech. I hope my blog post taught you something.
